Surfers did not ask questions as Jose shuffled across the American border, and flew up the East Coast.
North-blowing winds battered the entire coast as Jose neared, sending surfers flocking to Southern-facing surf breaks. Only until he started to pass New Jersey did the winds turn any bit offshore.
